8 Ways to Upgrade Your Blog Content

Hey there,

Looking to upgrade your blog content this quarter? Here are 8 things you can do:

1. Include a TLDR section at the top

Adding a TLDR (Too Long, Didn’t Read) section at the top of your blog posts will help provide immediate value to readers and could entice them to read through the entire thing without bouncing.

Extract the 4-5 most important points from your blog post and add them as a bullet list at the top of your post.

2. Add a table of contents

A table of contents (TOC) makes it much easier to navigate blog content, especially for longer (3k+ words) blog posts.

Ideally, you’ll want to set up an automated way of creating a TOC for every blog post. But, you can also do it manually in your CMS.

3. Back up your claims with data

Backing up your claims with relevant studies, reports, and statistics will make your advice seem much more credible.

Make sure to cite recent data (from the past 2-3 years) and always link to the original source.

4. Share insights from SMEs

If you want to create authoritative content, you need insights from subject matter experts (SMEs).

Reach out to internal or external experts on the topic, and ask them to share their opinions or advice for you to include in the blog post.

5. Add visuals

Static images, GIFs, and videos can make your blog content much more engaging.

Avoid using stock photography or adding visuals just for the sake of it, though.

Focus on adding visuals that allow readers to get a better understanding of the topic (e.g., infographics, flowcharts, etc.) or help them follow your advice or instructions more easily (e.g., screenshots, video walkthroughs, etc.)

6. Offer a downloadable resource

Creating a detailed blog post filled with actionable advice is a great start.

But you can take it a step further and provide readers with a downloadable resource that can help them implement your advice more easily.

Some examples of downloadable resources you could create include templates, cheatsheets, and workbooks.

No matter how detailed your blog post is, there’s always more relevant reading people can do to learn more about the topic.

Make their life easier and point them to additional resources they should check out, both on your blog and on other websites.

8. Create an FAQ section

A great way to end a blog post is by adding a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

Check out Google’s People Also Ask section for your target keyword, platforms like AlsoAsked and AnswerThePublic, and tools like Semrush’s Keyword Magic Tool to find commonly asked questions about your topic.

Upgrade your blog content today

Doing these 8 things will help ensure your content provides much more value to readers.

As such, it will be more likely to rank in search results and drive impact for your business.
