Stop Trying to Be Fancy With Your Content

Hey there,

If you don’t have a huge SEO budget, you need to stop trying to be fancy with your content.

I once worked with a founder who was adamant about having on-brand, custom designed featured images for their company’s blog content. So much so that they were spending $400 per featured image.

This obviously massively bloated their content production expenses. And when I asked for a budget increase to be able to produce more content, they said we couldn’t afford it!

Nicely designed featured images, graphs, infographics, and other visuals are nice—but they’re not what’s going to convert your visitors into customers.

If you have a low-to-medium SEO budget (think less than $10,000/month), focus on what’s going to push the needle the most: content & links.

Skip the fancy visuals, the high production value videos, and the expensive SEO software. For now.

Roll up your sleeves, DIY as much as you can, and get results by doing the basics right.
